I am a computational social scientist specialize in textual data analysis (text mining) based in Japan. I currently work as a senior data scientist at Lazard Asset Management. I am leading development of analytical pipelines for economic news, financial reports and earning call transcripts of companies publicly traded in the US, Japan or in Europe in original languages.
I have skills to analyze textual data in terms of unique and important dimensions such as business uncertainty and environmental impact using semisupervised machine learning models (e.g. Latent Semantic Scaling and seeded-LDA). They allow us to perform analysis of million texts at low cost without depending on external resources (e.g. keyword dictionaries and pre-trained models). They are also implemented in open-source software packages in R and C++.
I have a PhD in Social Research Methodology from the LSE and an MA in Political Science from Central European University. I am also affiliated with at Waseda University and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) as a visiting scholar.
